Grade II white water kayaking weekend in Mid Wales. Location: River Wye/Usk
The course provides 2 days of training to control your boat on
Grade II white water. If your looking to improve your skills and knowledge of
the river environment this weekend is great to increase your kayaking ww confidence
and control, while having lots of fun. We think grade II is a great way to enjoy river kayaking and aim to help you master white water skills to progress your paddling.
Your experience: Confident on Flat water and looking to master
Grade II river skills. Great experience to work towards your 3 star ww kayak or just feel confident
and in control on the river.
Places Maximum 6 in total on the course, if you are the only paddler booked in we will not cancel the course.

White water Techniques and skills
- Efficient Forward paddling

Day one
Meeting in Glasbury-on-Wye or Brecon depending on river levels. 10am start over a
coffee in the Cafe to understand your experience, We will go through the skills practiced during the day. The first 5 mile trip begins, with 30 Grade II rapids and lots of fun features to help you understand and enjoy grade II white water.
Day two
The second day is all about improving on your own style using either the same
or a different river. You will get the chance to experience surfing several
river waves, improve ferry gliding and tune up your river reading and boat control
skills. The aim is to make you more confident in moving water and give you a
set of kayaking techniques to practice. This course will give you a greater
understanding of Grade II white water river skills. Personal feedback will be given throughout
the weekend and advice to progress your paddling.
Kayaking equipment can be provided, although your own
is recommended.
Accommodation
You will need to make your own accommodation arrangements for this course with
local camping, bunk house and BnB's nearby. We have several options on our links page.

With a relaxing start to the day at 9.30am, we meet at the River Cafe Glasbury for a coffee and park next to the River Wye. The course meeting point is shown in miles from the accommodation.
